Description

Delightful pastries filled with creamy cheese and fresh fruit, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet Puff pastry (thawed)
  • 8 oz Cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Fresh fruit (chopped: berries, peaches, or apples)
  • 1 large Egg (beaten, for egg wash)
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, unfold the puff pastry and roll it out to a rectangular shape about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Cut the pastry into squares, approximately 4×4 inches.
  4. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square, then top with your chosen fresh fruit.
  6. Gently fold the corners of each pastry square toward the center, creating a neat packet. Brush the edges with the beaten egg.
  7. Bake the pastries for 20-25 minutes, until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly on a wire rack before serving, optionally dusting with powdered sugar.

Notes

Chill the pastry if it becomes too soft to handle. You can prepare the cream cheese filling the night before for easier prep in the morning.
