  • 8 oz (225 g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (optional, for smoother chocolate coating)
  • Optional: festive sprinkles or crushed candy canes for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, blend the powdered sugar, butter, peppermint extract, and heavy cream until smooth and creamy.
  2. Shape the mixture into discs, about 1-inch in diameter, and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Freeze the discs for about 20 minutes until they are firm.
  4. While the discs are chilling, melt the chocolate in the microwave or on a double boiler over low heat, adding vegetable oil for a smoother coating if desired.
  5. Dip each chilled disc into the melted chocolate, ensuring it’s fully coated, and place it back on the baking sheet.
  6. If desired, sprinkle festive toppings such as crushed candy canes or colorful sprinkles before the chocolate hardens.
  7. Chill in the refrigerator until the chocolate is fully set, which takes about 30 minutes.
