Description

A hearty and comforting casserole made with creamy cheese, savory kielbasa, and tender pierogies, perfect for chilly evenings.


Ingredients

  • 3 packages Mrs. T’s cheddar pierogies
  • 1 lb kielbasa, sliced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Begin by slicing the kielbasa into bite-size pieces.
  2. In the crockpot, layer the kielbasa slices followed by the pierogies.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth for moisture.
  4. Dollop chunks of cream cheese atop the pierogies and sprinkle shredded cheddar over the top.
  5. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  6. Cover and cook on low for about 4 hours or until the pierogies are tender.
  7. Carefully stir before serving and ladle into bowls, optionally garnishing with fresh herbs.

Notes

For a lighter option, use turkey kielbasa. You can also adapt this recipe to be vegan by using plant-based substitutes.
