Description

Crockpot Hot Chocolate is rich, creamy, and perfect for cold days or holiday gatherings. Made with real chocolate chips, milk, and cream, this slow-cooked hot cocoa is effortless and crowd-pleasing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
  • 6 cups milk (skim, 2%, or whole)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • Liqueur (optional)

Instructions

1. Add heavy cream, milk, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, and vanilla to the crockpot.

2. Whisk until the cocoa powder and condensed milk are fully mixed.

3. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours, stirring occasionally to ensure even melting.

4. Once smooth and hot, stir well and ladle into mugs.

5. If desired, add 1/2 to 1 ounce of your favorite liqueur to each cup.

6. Top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings before serving.

Notes

Tip: Keep on the “warm” setting for serving during parties.

Baileys, Kahlua, or RumChata make delicious adult add-ins.

You can prepare the mix a day ahead and store it in the refrigerator.

For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk and coconut cream.
