These Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches are slow-cooked to juicy perfection. Tender beef, melty cheese, and rich au jus make this an easy, comforting dinner you’ll want on repeat.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef chuck roast
- 1 packet au jus gravy mix (or homemade if preferred)
- 1 packet ranch dressing mix (optional)
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 4 French rolls or hoagie buns
- 4 slices provolone cheese (or cheese of choice)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Place the beef chuck roast in the crockpot and sprinkle with au jus mix and optional ranch dressing mix.
2. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, then add the sliced onion.
3. Cover and cook on low for 7–8 hours or on high for 4–5 hours until beef is tender.
4. Remove beef and shred with two forks, then return it to the juices.
5. Toast the French rolls or hoagie buns.
6. Fill each bun with shredded beef and a slice of provolone cheese.
7. Serve with the warm au jus broth from the crockpot for dipping.
Notes
Toast your bread to prevent sogginess when dipped.
Add hot sauce for a spicy twist.
Use Swiss or mozzarella if you prefer different cheese.
Store leftover beef in the fridge for up to 3 days.
