- 26 oz bag of frozen homestyle meatballs
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 can (10.5 oz) French onion soup
- 1 packet (1 oz) Lipton Onion Soup Mix
- 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese (or substitute Swiss/Mozzarella)
- 1–2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1–2 tablespoons water
Instructions
- Prepare Meatballs: Begin by placing the frozen meatballs directly into the crock pot, spreading them evenly.
- Add Onions and Soup: Layer the sliced onions on top of the meatballs and pour the French onion soup over all. Sprinkle the Lipton Onion Soup Mix and gently stir.
- Slow Cook: Cover the crock pot and set it to low for 4 to 6 hours or high for 3 to 4 hours.
- Cheese Melting Magic: About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle the shredded cheese on top and cover.
- Thicken the Sauce: If desired, mix cornstarch and water in a bowl and stir into the crock pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Notes
For extra depth of flavor, sauté the onions before adding them to the crock pot. Adjust cooking time based on your specific crock pot model.
