Description
A heartwarming crock pot recipe featuring tender chicken in a creamy sauce with Italian herbs, perfect for busy weeknights or special gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1–2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of chicken soup
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 1 packet Good Seasons Dry Italian Salad Dressing Mix
- 16 ounces angel hair pasta
- Chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional)
- Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil, and sear the chicken breasts until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per side. Remove from heat.
- Combine cream cheese, butter, cream of chicken soup, minced garlic, chicken broth, and the Italian dressing mix in a mixing bowl. Stir until smooth and well-blended.
- Place the seared chicken in the crock pot. Pour the creamy sauce over the chicken, making sure it’s evenly coated. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours, or until the chicken is tender.
- Prepare angel hair pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Serve the chicken whole or shred it, draping it over the pasta. Garnish with chopped parsley, cracked black pepper, and a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor and presentation.
Notes
For best results, sear the chicken to enhance flavor. Adjust cooking time based on crock pot variation. Adding a splash of lemon juice can brighten the dish.
