- 1 loaf of brioche or challah bread
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Granulated sugar for caramelizing
Instructions
- Slice the brioche or challah into thick slices and arrange them in a greased baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs, heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture over the bread slices, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) while the bread soaks.
- Bake the soaked bread for 30-35 minutes or until golden and set.
- Cool slightly, sprinkle granulated sugar on top, and caramelize using a kitchen torch.
- Serve warm with fresh berries or syrup.
Notes
For best results, soak the bread overnight and serve immediately after caramelizing the sugar.
