- 12 oz penne pasta
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces

- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1 cup asparagus, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Boil salted water in a large pot. Add penne pasta and cook until al dente, following package instructions. Once done, drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chicken pieces seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
- Toss in sliced mushrooms and asparagus, sautéing for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
- Pour the heavy cream into the skillet, stirring to combine. Allow it to come to a gentle simmer.
- Gradually stir in grated Parmesan cheese until it melts and combines with the cream, adjusting the consistency with a splash of reserved pasta water if necessary.
- Add the cooked penne to the skillet. Toss to evenly coat the pasta in the creamy sauce, cooking for an additional minute so everything warms through.
- Dish the pasta into bowls and, if desired, garnish with more Parmesan cheese. Enjoy warm for a comforting meal.
