Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

Instructions

  1. Place the boneless chicken breasts into your slow cooker, ensuring they are evenly spread out.
  2. Pour in the chicken broth over the chicken.
  3. Chop the garlic cloves finely and sprinkle them over the chicken.
  4. Add the diced onion to the mix.
  5. Sprinkle in the dried thyme, salt, and pepper.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours until chicken is tender.
  7. Mix in the heavy cream and shredded Gruyere cheese until melted.
  8. Stir in the orzo pasta, cover, and cook on high for an additional 15-20 minutes.

For best results, use fresh chicken and high-quality cheese. Substitute Gruyere with Emmental or fontina if needed. Leftovers can be transformed into burritos.
