- 1 package Puff Pastry (Thawed but cold for best results)
- 4 oz Cream Cheese
- 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 0.5 teaspoon Lemon Zest (Optional)
- 1 tablespoon All-Purpose Flour
- 1 Egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon Water (mixed with egg for the wash)
- Powdered Sugar (for dusting before serving)
- Fresh Berries (Optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, optional lemon zest, and flour. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into rectangles about 4×6 inches.
- Scoop a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture into the center of each rectangle. Fold over the corners to create a lovely parcel.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and water. Brush this egg wash over the pastries for that golden finish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until puffed up and beautifully golden brown.
- Once cooled slightly, dust with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh berries, if desired.
