- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
- 16 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 6 hamburger buns
- 6 slices yellow cheese
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, seasoning it lightly with salt and pepper. Cook for about 6 to 8 minutes until fully browned.
- Transfer the browned beef to your slow cooker. Pour in the tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, mustard, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Set your slow cooker to HIGH for 3 hours or LOW for 6 hours.
- Once cooked, spoon the mixture onto hamburger buns. Top each with a slice of cheese and let it melt slightly before serving.

Notes
Feel free to add cayenne pepper or jalapeños for extra heat. The flavors improve if prepared in advance.
