- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions until it’s hot and ready.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the sourdough discard, all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- In another bowl, beat the egg and mix in the milk, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, gently folding until just combined.
- Lightly grease the waffle iron if necessary and pour an appropriate amount of batter into the hot iron.
- Close the waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crispy, following the manufacturer’s guidelines.
