Description
Delightful gingerbread truffles filled with spices and cream cheese, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup gingerbread cookies, crushed
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- Sprinkles or crushed gingerbread for coating
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the crushed gingerbread cookies and softened cream cheese until well mixed; the mixture should be creamy and slightly sticky.
- Add the vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger, mixing until everything is smoothly integrated.
- Form the mixture into small balls, roughly an inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Chill the truffles in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, allowing them to firm up before coating.
- Meanwhile, melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 20 seconds until smooth and creamy.
- Dip each chilled truffle into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated, and gently shake off any excess.
- Roll the chocolate-covered truffles in sprinkles or crushed gingerbread to add a decorative touch.
- Place the decorated truffles back on the baking sheet and refrigerate until the coating has set, about another 30 minutes.
Notes
Chill time is key to achieving a more manageable consistency. For smoother dipping, ensure your truffles are fully chilled before coating them in white chocolate.
