Description
Cozy meatballs cooked in a flavorful beef broth and French onion soup mix, perfect for family gatherings or busy days.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 package (10-12 oz) French onion soup mix
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, finely chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until well blended; then form this mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.
- Layer the meatballs in the crockpot, ensuring they are evenly spaced for optimal cooking.
- In another bowl, whisk together the beef broth and French onion soup mix until well combined. Pour the broth over the meatballs, coating them sufficiently.
- Cover the crockpot and set to low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours. The meatballs should be cooked through and tender when done.
- Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
For a thicker sauce, consider leaving the lid off for the last 30 minutes of cooking. Feel free to experiment with herbs and spices to enhance flavor.
