Instructions
- In your crockpot, place the chicken and drizzle with olive oil or butter. Season generously with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic, spreading them evenly over the chicken.
- Pour in the chicken broth, stirring gently to mix without breaking up the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for approximately 4 hours, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
- After 4 hours, carefully remove the chicken from the pot and shred it using two forks.
- Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and stir in the orzo and heavy cream. Cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes, or until the orzo is tender.
- Once cooked, mix in the grated Parmesan cheese until the dish becomes smooth and creamy.
