- 2 cups chicken broth
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups whole milk
- ½ cup chicken broth
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder

- ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub the mixture generously over each chicken breast.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
- In a saucepan, bring chicken broth and salt to a boil. Stir in the rice, lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 15-18 minutes until the rice is tender. Fluff with a fork before serving.
- In the same skillet used for the chicken, melt butter over medium heat. Sprinkle in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring to avoid burning. Gradually whisk in milk and chicken broth, and stir in garlic powder and thyme. Add cheddar and Parmesan, mixing until the sauce thickens.
- Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the creamy sauce over it, cover, and let simmer on low for an additional 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
