Description
A warm embrace of pasta with fresh asparagus, garlic, and creamy Parmesan that celebrates family and culinary tradition.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz pasta
- 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed and cut into pieces
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, juiced and zested
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Begin by cooking the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving a bit of the pasta water for later if needed.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.
- Toss in the asparagus and cook for about 3-5 minutes until tender but still crisp.
- Stir in the heavy cream, lemon juice, and zest, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing until well coated with the creamy sauce and asparagus mixture.
- Mix in the Parmesan cheese, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to combine.
- Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
Start your pasta before the sauce for seamless cooking. If the sauce is too thick, add a ladle of pasta water to loosen it. Don’t skip the lemon zest for added brightness.
