Description

This Chicken Sausage Orzo Skillet with Broccoli is the ultimate one pan dinner! Packed with savory sausage, tender orzo, and cheesy Parmesan, it’s ready in just 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz package chicken sausage
  • 3 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup uncooked orzo
  • 2 ⅓ cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. Slice the chicken sausage into half moons.

2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil. Once hot, add sausage and brown 2 minutes on each side.

3. Add minced garlic and broccoli. Stir and cook for 2-3 minutes until garlic is fragrant.

4. Add orzo and chicken broth. Stir well, scraping the bottom to release flavor.

5. Turn heat to low, cover, and simmer 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until orzo is tender.

6. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted. Serve warm.

Notes

Use spicy chicken sausage for extra kick.

Frozen broccoli works fine, just add it directly without thawing.

Toast orzo for 1-2 minutes before adding broth for nuttier flavor.

Add a splash of cream at the end for extra richness.
