- 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes

- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until soft, about 3-5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and sauté for another minute until fragrant.
- Add ground beef to the pot. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Sprinkle chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and black pepper over the beef. Stir to coat everything well and toast the spices for about 1-2 minutes.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes and beef broth, then add black and kidney beans. Stir the mixture and bring it to a gentle simmer.
- Cover the pot with a lid and let it simmer on low heat for 30-40 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- After 40 minutes, taste the chili and adjust seasonings if needed. If you crave more heat, consider adding a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- Ladle chili into bowls and top with your favorite garnishes like shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped green onions.
