Description

A comforting, slow-cooked dish featuring tender chicken covered in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
  • 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the crock pot.
  2. Whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ketchup, ground ginger, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crock pot.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 4 hours until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  5. Optional: To thicken the sauce, mix cornstarch with water and add to the crock pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Stir well and allow to cook until thickened.
  6. Serve the chicken with the sauce over rice or noodles.

Notes

For a richer flavor, brown the chicken briefly before cooking. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F.
