- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 2 tablespoons water (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Place the chicken breasts in the crock pot.
- Whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ketchup, ground ginger, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crock pot.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 4 hours until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Optional: To thicken the sauce, mix cornstarch with water and add to the crock pot during the last 30 minutes of cooking. Stir well and allow to cook until thickened.
- Serve the chicken with the sauce over rice or noodles.
Notes
For a richer flavor, brown the chicken briefly before cooking. Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F.
