Description

A flavorful blend of sweet honey and spicy black pepper, this heartwarming dish of Honey Pepper Chicken is easy to make and perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
  • 8 ounces macaroni pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Additional salt and pepper for seasoning
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, mix honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, garlic and onion powder, and cayenne. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Slice the chicken into strips and coat with the sauce.
  5. Boil salted water and cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  6. In another saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, then gradually add milk until thickened. Stir in cheeses until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Mix the macaroni with the cheese sauce.
  8. Serve the macaroni topped with honey pepper chicken and garnish with parsley.

Notes

For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the honey mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
