- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 8 ounces macaroni pasta
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Additional salt and pepper for seasoning
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, mix honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, garlic and onion powder, and cayenne. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Slice the chicken into strips and coat with the sauce.
- Boil salted water and cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In another saucepan, melt butter, whisk in flour, then gradually add milk until thickened. Stir in cheeses until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Mix the macaroni with the cheese sauce.
- Serve the macaroni topped with honey pepper chicken and garnish with parsley.
Notes
For added flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the honey mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
