- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil (optional for searing)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- If desired, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and sear the chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- In the crock pot, combine cream of chicken soup, ranch seasoning mix, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir well to create the sauce.
- Add the chicken breasts to the crock pot, ensuring they are well coated with the sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is tender and shreds easily with a fork.
- Once done, shred the chicken with two forks and mix it back into the sauce.
- Before serving, gently stir in the sour cream and optionally top with shredded cheese and parsley.
Notes
Searing the chicken adds flavor but is optional. Add vegetables like carrots or potatoes for a complete meal.
