A comforting ranch chicken dish cooked effortlessly in a crock pot, perfect for busy weeknights and family gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (optional, for searing)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. If you choose to sear the chicken, pour olive oil into a pan over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn golden brown. This step is optional!
  2. In your crock pot, pour in the cream of chicken soup. Follow it up with the ranch seasoning mix, chicken broth, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Stir gently to ensure everything is well-combined.
  3. Place the seared (or raw) chicken breasts into the mixture, nestling them in the creamy goodness.
  4. Set your crock pot to low and cook for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is fork-tender and falls apart easily.
  5. Once the cooking time is up, shred the chicken with two forks and stir it back into the sauce to soak up all those flavors.
  6. Just before serving, fold in the sour cream for an extra creamy touch. Top with shredded cheese and fresh parsley if desired for a pop of color.

Notes

This ranch chicken can be served over rice, in tortillas, or on a bed of greens. Leftovers may taste even better as the flavors meld.
