Description
These blueberry danishes blend creamy cheese with sweet blueberry preserves, creating cozy treats perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry
- 1/2 cup blueberry preserves
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares about 4×4 inches.
- In a bowl, blend the softened cream cheese with a tablespoon of sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Place a generous spoonful of cream cheese and a spoonful of blueberry preserves in the center of each pastry square.
- Carefully fold the corners of the pastry square toward the center, pinching the corners to seal in the creamy filling.
- Brush the tops of each pastry with the beaten egg to achieve a beautiful golden color.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until puffed and golden brown.
- While the danishes are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth to create the glaze.
- Allow the danishes to cool slightly, then drizzle them generously with the glaze before serving.
Notes
For a unique twist, experiment with different fruit preserves or add lemon zest to the cream cheese filling.
