This Chili Lime Marinade adds bright, zesty, & spiced flavor to everything it touches! Just 5 minutes and 8 pantry staples to transform meat, seafood, or veggies into a Mexican-inspired delight.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds meat or veggies of choice
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 2 limes, zested and juiced
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped or grated
  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar (or honey)
  • 2 teaspoons ancho chile powder (or chili powder)
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl or jar, combine olive oil, lime zest and juice, garlic, agave, chile powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Whisk or shake well to blend.

2. Use immediately or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.

3. Pour over meat or veggies of choice. Cover and refrigerate for 6-8 hours.

4. Grill or cook as desired. Enjoy that bold, zesty flavor!

Notes

Don’t marinate longer than 8 hours due to acidity.

Make ahead and store the marinade up to 5 days in the fridge.

Substitute chili powder if ancho isn’t available.
